The Bowman Family

June 2009 saw the full launch of Really Welsh Ice Cream in stores right across Wales. Available in four original flavours, Really Welsh Ice Cream is actually made in Carmarthenshire by Will Bowman and his family on their farm, using milk from their own jersey herd.

Making Ice Cream in the heart of West Wales, is we think far smarter than carting milk off around the countryside, only for ice cream to pour out of anonymous factories - we rather like ours produced where the cow can keep an eye on things.

Will Bowman who makes the Ice Cream knows more about vanilla pods than i-pods so he has pulled together the most delicious flavours to create our range of Ice Creams. First up we have Why, Why, Why Vanila-a homeage to the legendary Sir Tom Jones, Swirley Basey is a fruity mix of delicious berries, Triple Chocolate Crown is a scrummy combination of chocolate ice cream, chocolate fudge sauce and chocolate chip pieces- mmm.

To create our fourth flavour we have teamed up with the guys at Penderyn and used their Merlyn cream liqueur to make our fantastic Merlyn Ice Cream.

The Bowman Family's Interesting Fact:

They know their cows so well they can pick them out of a line-up and even tell you their name, Fudge is a particular favourite of ours.
