Things don't really get much more Welsh than the Vale of Glamorgan, but the trouble is that people don't really understand why. Until they see the beautifully yellow Really Welsh daffodils that we grow there that is, because although we grow 20 stunning varieties (to make sure you can enjoy them for as much of the year as possible) we never ever use anything but the purest yellow bulbs.
So, if you ever see any orange, or even a hint of it, in any other daff, you know it's not Really Welsh.
Our Really Welsh daffodils first saw the glorious light of day in 2005, after we'd dedicated 25 acres of ultra daff-happy soil to them. Nowadays there are 100 acres all with shiny yellow Really Welsh Daffodils popping out of them from January right through until the end of Spring. And to save you doing the maths, that works out as about 1 million bunches per year brightening up people's lives.
We want to make Wales self sufficient in Daffodils again and, even if it is a long long journey, we're getting there!
