Really Welsh Daffodils help raise money for good Welsh causes
The Garnwen Trust organise a sponsored walk annually in memory of Alex Collins from Maesteg and his girlfriend Bethan Jones from Porth, who were 22 when they became victims of a plane crash in Thailand. Each walker carried a daffodil with them to commemorate the couple. The charity is looking to raise enough money to build a multi-purpose residential unit in Afan Argoed Country Park, which would enable groups of up to 12 disabled and able bodied people to enjoy short breaks in the park.To find out more about the Garnwen Trust you can contact Andrew Morris on 07527 153158
On the 2nd of March Celyn Quilters in Newbridge held a St David Day event which included a talk about quilting history, each person attending received a bunch of Really Welsh daffodils and donations totalling £200 were raised for St David's Foundation. At our own Really Welsh Food Festival in Cardiff we had plenty of real daffodils available but we also had pin daffodils in aid of Marie Curie which raised over £350. To find out more about the work Marie Curie does here in Wales click here
