Ready or Not…

We’ve not met anyone yet that doesn’t really love a good Cauliflower cheese – but not everyone has time to grate cheese, whip up a super sauce and lovingly steam tender cauliflower florets…. So,  we had a think, talked to the nice people at Cadog, who produce wonderful Welsh milk and butter as well as really great award winning Welsh cheese, and between us, with the team at Beacon Foods in Brecon who can cook hundreds of great dishes every day standing on their heads*, we’ve developed a Really Welsh Cauliflower cheese that can be cooked in a microwave in just minutes, leaving you time to do anything you like – [we won’t ask any tricky questions -  honest!]

So now you can either buy one of our Really Welsh cauliflowers, some Cadog cheese, & get cooking while family & friends do more exciting stuff…. or you can do something fun too while some Really Welsh Cauliflower cooks away, already covered in the most delicious cheesy sauce we’ve ever tasted (that includes the sauce my mum makes – but don’t tell her I told you).

So what’s the difference between our Cauliflower cheese and one you might find on the shelves already?  Well lots of things actually, here are our top 6:

1.    Our Cauli cheese is made from freshly picked cauliflowers and cooked every day – unlike some versions that use freeze dried cauliflower pieces (yes really  uuuugh).
2.    We use real Cadog cheese too, just like the blocks you buy in the shops – not a formulated cheese powder or flavour (yes we can’t believe it either!)
3.    We spent ages looking at cheese content (you’d think we have more to fill our days – but we think this is important) and our sauce is as cheesy as any you will find.
4.    Our Cauliflower Cheese is as Welsh as we can possibly make it, with Butter, Cheese, Cauliflower and Milk all coming from Wales…even the card sleeves that surround the packs are made in Bridgend.

5.    The whole thing is cooked up by the award winning team at Beacon Foods in the heart of the Brecon Beacons National park.
6.    Our meals are cooked fresh daily, (did we already mention that) NO further processing & pasteurization after cooking here – its food like you’d cook at home – in fact we know a few people who serve our Cauliflower cheese - but tell their families that they’ve made it themselves…(but we won’t tell anyone).

•    * We don’t think they make our meals standing on their actual heads – but we’re sure they could if they wanted!

ps: We grow cauliflowers in Wales 52 weeks a year but unlike most other things in Wales (including me) leeks much prefer the winter so won't be around for a few weeks between June and July.

pps: Apart from a dash of worcester sauce, mustard and flour but we are working on sourcing the last two from Wales but even we can't move Worcester!!

cheers
