Banned!

Our popular Welsh icon, CARWEN the Really Welsh Leek, was yesterday BANNED from the RHS Spring Show in Cardiff. Carwen, who made his debut at the St David's Food Festival held by us in Queen St on March 1st, and who then proved a huge hit on Westgate St before the Grand Slam show down on March 15th, was yesterday banished from the RHS event in Coopers field after RHS bigwigs decided that he was “not within Royal Horticultural Society regulations”. Carwen and our team had written permission before the event, and had been a big hit with crowds on Friday, but was ordered out of the show on Saturday much to the discord of several younger visitors. Anyone wishing to meet Carwen fear not, Glamorgan Cricket bosses have already asked Carwen to help entertain crowds at the new SWALEC stadium this summer, especially during the hugely popular 20Twenty competition, and have provided free tickets for fans to come along on May 9th.
