Duffydil Launches
17 April 2009
The Royal Horticultural Society have honoured the likes of Catherine Jenkins and Princess Diana with their own flower. This year they have bestowed the honour on Duffy had have given her the choice of daffodils to be named after her.
We grow an nearly 30 varieties of daffodils just outside Bridgend, a number of these varieites were un-named, these un-named varieites were sent to Duffy and she chose her favourite which is now known as 'Duffydil'. The flower is a traditional yellow daffodil, it is not a miniature, instead it is and extremely robust and sturdy flower which blooms in March.
We will be harvesting the bulbs in July, but thought that as the 'Duffydil' was launched on the 17th April at the RHS show in Cardiff that we would give people the opportunity to pre-order the bulbs.
The bulbs will be available in Bulb Tubes and each tube will contain a minimun of 3 bulbs. The Duffydil Bulb Tubes can be ordered through our online shop www.reallywelshshop.com
The price of each tube is £5.00 which includes postage and packaging. 10% of profits from the sale of the Duffydil will go to Duffy's chosen charity the Teenage Cancer Trust and to the RHS society in Cardiff.
